If you need help or would like a ready to go off grid homestead.

Imagine a positive version of the future, an utopia that we can start building today….
Living in harmony with nature, no more bills, as much or more comfort, better food, more qualiity time, and all of that doable in DIY way with scavenged materials, or a little fancier if you can afford it.
Heres a tour of an imaginary solar punk house...
The off grid oasis,
A solar punk house

Entering trough the greenhouse
Here you find lush beautiful plants in earth raised bed, a nice stone path, different hydroponic set up for different plants theres some lighting spots to boost the growth, a little pond brings some interesting evaporative cooling effect, velux on the roof to regulate temperature, bunch of different growing technic and plant types, mushroom strawberry, pumpkin, zuchini tomato ..
Theres a big table in the middle of this room to eat or work.
The glass roof is protectected by a shade frabric that slides a meter above the the glass, for hot days and destructive hail.

The Kitchen is the hearth of the home, you ll find a little micro green and hydroponic garden, all the kitchen appliances like the fridge, freezer,
Callbass bowls, stone pots, proper hippie house full of natural stuff

At the tap, filtered water coming from your own water tank. This water might comes from a well, a river a stream, desalinated from the sea or from your roof as you harvest rain water…
The stove is set up on biogaz, a gaz you produce from all kind of organic waste material
In this kitchen you would find the same kind of electric devices you have at your house, electric devices have no problem to run from the basic electric set up
In a big ventilated closet, fruits and vegies are stored, well organized, some fruits dont like to be next to each other, organizing them strategiqly can help reduce your need for a fridge. Or at least save space in it.

On the shelf you also see a ton of jars. sterilized , or lacto fermented jars are Another great way to keep the food you produced for years reducing the need for freezer and fridge.
Unlike with a freezer your jars wont go bad if the electricity turns off…
Talking about fridges and freezer, you can run them without any problem, you just need enough solar pannel and batterie capacity, but its totaly doable…
A stair way brings to the roof top, where you find some sun tracking solar water heater, solar panels, automated satelitte dish for the light through optical fiber and they could be used for cooking by switching the frensel lens that focuses the energy into the optical fiber with a vacum insulated glass tube made for cooking to trap the heat, or simly a pan…

On the roof you also eventualy find some antenas for the internet, a wifi repetitor anterna, (to share / rent internet to your neighboors), why not a diy TV antena, eventually a VHF and long range radio antena as well, to be sure to always be somehow connected to the world…
The big satellite dish moves following the sun it snot an antena but a way to concentrate solar energy in a focal point.
Which can be used for cooking or to bring sun light into the house through optical fiber.
On the roof top, a comfy terase with a view on the natural pool…
Part or the roof could covered with earth, and vegetation, which help keeping a nice comfy climate inside,
Maybe you even have place to instal an outside bath tub on there ?
The roof as a weird looking large cheminey, its the AC tower, oriented in the direction of the prevailing wind its made to force the higher slightly colder wind inside this air is getting cooler in the tower, this process can be eventualy enenced with evaporative cooling, imagine the inside of the tower as a vertical garden, water is sprayed on to the plant, and the hot air quickly gets colder and enter the house…
On the highest point of the roof there could be an opening or a cheminey to let the hot air outside…
Coming back down the stairs, keep going down and enter the underground room, a cozy space, where the temperature is stable all year long, it s a good place for storing veggetable, as well as of for an office a tv room a bar or anything you wish…

Ok back up, lets visit the bathroom, could be a compost toilet and misting shower, if low on water, or it could be a regular flushing toilet going inito a biodigestor and a regular presurized water set up…

You would also find a bunch of diy and natural products in such a bathroom.
The shower water is either heated with a simple diy solar heater or a well insulated electric one or a simple gaz water heater.
Next door is one of the room, a vent comes out of the ground, some colder air from the the meditarean well comes in, this is even optimized the opening closes on it s own when the room gets below a certain temperature…
Next door the office or lab, a luminous room, a big white board, a 3d printer, a cnc, a microscope, in this room anything is possible. From cloning plants to repairing an electric engine or assembling a drone…

For an upgrated comfort a diy tiny ac systhem runs on hot days.
Another door opens on The garage, a bigger tool shop, with tools and equipement for any job, you ll find a welding machine, a sawing machine, a nice workbench.
In the garage you also find the utilities sports room, where you dry your clothes bicycling,
In another part of the garage you have the vehicules, and their charging station, maybe you still have a regular car, and a power full electric ebike that you assemble yourself for a 1oth of the price.
The garage extends into a pepiniaire / zone 1 permaculture or even aquponic systheme where plants are well fed, protected from extreme wind or harsh sun, the watering is automated,
Close by theres the natural pool, there s actually multiple bassins, a main one where you swim, a large wet zone where water is filtred and a fish area…
The grey water from the house is filtered in the gray water wet area, at the bottom of which it is collected and sended in to the mainpool, the main over flows in the fish water which is used for the plants…

In the garden close to the house you also find a solar dehydrator, maybe next to smoking room,
The garden then extend in different permaculture zones.
One being your enclosed garden close to the house with the more delicate plants and then a second one where you grow crops more resilients, and in this zone depending on what you plant you could have your chicken or ducks, roaming free weeding and fertelizing your plants
Here and there you ll find intentional wet spot on the land, a shaded spot where rain accumulates and where the main pool over flows.
That ll help get more water in the soil.
Close by to the house there is a spa, a diy sauna and diy hot tub wih water jets, both powered with fire and electricity.
